So the questions are ‘which lubricants are suitable’ and ‘what do I have to consider when using them?’. At this point we would like to help you find a solution that is optimally suited for ejector lubrication, easy to use, and does not have to be ordered in large containers.
Finding lubricants that offer the best performance in the field of ejector lubrication can often be a challenge and you might end up with a product that isn’t optimal. Although many solutions on the market can be used for ejector lubrication, they have not been specially developed for this application and only meet the complex requirements to a limited extent. Simple mineral oil-based grease with solid lubricants often lose a lot of performance at temperatures above 180°C since the mineral oil they contain already reaches its limits at these temperatures.
When selecting lubricants, it is important to rely on the experience of experts from the mould and die making industry. Products developed together with customers in the injection moulding sector are thus perfectly adapted to the requirements of the injection moulding process. Collaboration like this resulted in an ideal solution for ejector lubrication - a fully synthetic, solid-free grease based on perfluoropolyether (PFPE).
PFPE grease is extremely temperature stable and highly inert. This enables longest operating times even under difficult operating conditions and temperatures. Since it contains no solid lubricants, this lubricant is ideally suited for the very tight tolerances in the ejector guide area.
Our product recommendations
VGI 300 - fully synthetic inert grease without PTFE, usable up to 300°C
Solid-free high-temperature grease for lubricating ejectors, slides and ejection units in mould and die making that require tight tolerances.
- Usable at up to 300°C
- High shot rate without having to relubricate
- Suitable for very tight tolerances
- Suitable for use on visible parts (the grease won't be transported by the ejectors)
- InS-H1 certified (approved for the food processing industry)
Application note
In order to guarantee optimum performance of PFPE lubricants, the designated area must be clean and not contaminated by oil or grease residues, hand perspiration, dirt particles, or the like. For optimal pre-cleaning, we recommend the VCM 20 high-performance universal cleaner. Afterwards, apply the grease thinly and evenly to the surface using a clean, lint-free cloth. It is particularly important that the grease is not mixed with other lubricants afterwards.
VCM 20 – high performance universal cleaner
