After a turbulent year in 2022, Meusburger continues to be a reliable supplier in the mould and die making industry. Despite the challenges in the past year, the standard parts manufacturer has optimised existing processes and further advanced digitalisation. The company recorded a 16% growth in turnover, partly due to increased costs and resulting price increases.
Wolfurt, Austria. Meusburger, leading manufacturer of high-quality products for mould, die and jigs and fixtures construction, faced a number of challenges last year including the increased raw material, wage and energy costs. Thanks to our high-percentage of in-house production as well as the large standard parts warehouse, the company was able to absorb part of the costs and guarantee its customers continuous supply security. One of the causes for the increased turnover in 2022 was the necessary price adjustments that Meusburger had to make due to the enormous price increases.
Rising to challenges together
Meusburger is proud of its ten worldwide locations. The company has deep roots in Vorarlberg where three of the Meusburger locations are. ‘We have a strong family company with motivated employees and numerous investments and have created a promising foundation. Thanks to the outstanding teamwork, we have also managed to overcome the challenges in 2022 together’, says Managing Director Guntram Meusburger.
Comprehensive product range
Meusburger offers its customers everything that the mould and die maker needs to realise their projects. The product portfolio ranges from high-precision plates and standard parts, selected products for workshop equipment to hot runner and control systems to a knowledge management system. That way the company offers its customers a perfectly coordinated product range. The standard parts manufacturer is also digitally prepared for the future, as the largest company-wide project is currently underway. The goals are the optimisation of the Meusburger portal through the introduction of a new web shop, a newly set up Meusburger website and further automation and digitalisation of various processes in many areas of the company.
Outlook for 2023
Despite the predictions of high inflation and the uncertain energy situation, Meusburger is well-prepared thanks to a strong foundation. The demand for standard parts remains high and thanks to our high degree of in-house production and service level, the company can meet the needs of its now 24,000 customers and absorb possible fluctuations. As a manufacturer, Meusburger also focuses on the efficient use of energy resources, such as heat recovery from the machines or investing in sustainable and independent energy sources. ‘In the future, Meusburger will focus on further expanding the strengths of the existing business areas step by step. We are well prepared and ready to quickly deal with any upcoming challenges’ explains Guntram Meusburger.
